Meet Aunt Amanda

Hello and Kwey!
I am so happy you are here!  If you are reading this, you are curious about all things birth, sovereign birth, postpartum, babies, families and energy! Everything is and has Life Force Energy!  I am honored and privileged to have the calling to work alongside families to bring their babies earthside and provide the energetic space for others to step into their power and heal themselves.

For over a decade, Aunt Amanda supported families in a doula capacity, walking along families as they welcome new life into their homes and hearts. She began her doula journey after the births of her 2 biological children, who are now - 17 and 14! When her first born was an infant, she founded a shoppe, The Baby Nest, where she educated families not only on cloth diapers, but babywearing, natural products and created space for workshops and breastfeeding assistance. Through connecting with birth professionals, she learned about doula work!  After the birth of her second born, some major life changes (gaining a bonus child), including closing the shoppe, she took both the birth and postpartum doula training within one month.
She co-founded a doula agency, Renfrew County Doulas, and began growing a team of doulas and childbirth educators to create a professional reputation for doulas in the Upper Ottawa Valley.  There was a time that she was juggling the roles of single mother, home school educator, birth doula, postpartum doula, childbirth educator, breast & infant feeding educator, placenta encapsulation specialist, newborn care provider, agency owner and mentor.  She attended over 120 births between 7 different hospitals and clients' homes.
She connected with a wonderful Usui Reiki Master after learning about Reiki Energy Healing and began treatments.  When Reiki Level 1 was offered, she decided to take the training and found energy work to be quite helpful.

In 2019, a giant life change happened.  She announced her retirement from the doula world and passed on the Renfrew County Doulas torch to one of the wonderful team members. This journey took her into hobby farming through the uncertain times of the early 2020s.  A huge change in trajectory blessed with her viewing the world and birth through a new lens.
Retirement turned into a sabbatical and Aunt Amanda began attending births again in 2022, supporting families who choose sovereignty over their birth experiences.   During that sabbatical, she received her Level II Reiki Attunement and then her Master Attunement in 2023, opening a practice in Iroquois Falls Ontario.

2025 has been a huge year!  Aunt Amanda and her family have relocated to British Columbia!  FALL, WINTER and 2026 spots for birth and postpartum support are open!  Aunt Amanda is very much looking forward to serving families in the Kamloops BC area!
